Celebrate National Hot Tea Month with Cured Leaves Tea
With the winter sweeping in colder weather (at least in some places), it’s the perfect time to cozy up with a warm beverage. And what better beverage to choose than tea, given that January is National Hot Tea Month!
With more than 1,000 different types of tea, tea is the most widely consumed beverage around the world. And with so many flavors to choose from, almost everyone can find something they’ll enjoy.
For us, tea isn’t just a delicious drink. It also nourishes our minds, hearts, and souls. We see drinking tea as a form of meditation and healing. Here are a few ways we’ll be celebrating National Hot Tea Month. So put on a kettle, grab your favorite mug, and join us!
Trying New Blends
One of our favorite things to do is to taste new blends. Even blends that have similar ingredients can have subtle differences. We love to experiment with new ingredient combinations to find that perfect cup, and we encourage you to give them a try!
Invest in a Quality Infuser
Our teas are all loose tea, not sold in bags, which means they require an infuser to make. While you can certainly find fancier, expensive infusers, a quality tea infuser doesn’t have to break the bank. You can get a very affordable one right from our store! They’re easy to use and can help you make a great cup any time you want.
Buy a Fancy Teapot or Mug
First off, we want to be clear that a teapot is in no way necessary to enjoy a good cup of tea. But the art of the teapot is as old as tea consumption itself. People today often collect them as much for their aesthetic value as their functional value. In fact, some teapots are purely for decoration.
Luckily, there are plenty of teapots that are affordable, well-designed, and functional. Many of them even come with their own infusers, making it easy to brew a nice pot.
Or, if a teapot isn’t in the cards for you, there are many beautiful, hand-made ceramic mugs available. You can certainly find nice, industrially-made mugs at Target or other home goods stores, but a handmade mug gives you a more personalized experience and helps support an artist.
Practice a Tea Ceremony
In many cultures, tea is a sacred part of the culture. Japan, for example, is well known for its tea ceremonies. While you don’t necessarily need to follow the practice to the letter, you can often find authentic experience at a Japanese garden. This website offers a list of places you can go to experience an authentic Japanese tea ceremony.
